Tuesday 30th June 09 4 Venues!!

What a day!!

Up at 04:30 and met Ianat 05:30 in Dawlish.

Caught one schoolie at the Exe, painfull experiance as my cheapo waders rubbed my leg so badly it cut it completly on the opposite side of an infected mozzie bite I got in Spain last week.

Brought some sandeels had an hour outside Wrigglers hut no joy.

Stopped at Institute beach tried sandeel peeler, prawn and spinning nothing.

Got a bucket of water for the sandeels and when i got home the bucket had tipped and all water on floor of boot and sandeels dead!!

Not a good day, hopefully it will recover later as I am on another Bass hunt this evening.

Update, went bassing with Banger and Ade no bass but alive with mackerel.

Gemini 34 miles out Cod trip 12 June 09

Got on board at 06:00

1/2 hour out a party of 5 had forgot reels booms etc, 4 novices and one experianced angler, but no turning back so off we steamed.

1st drop my mate Paul had one and lost it at the surface, and another Wreck fishing virgin had one 14lb 10.

Anyhoo with out writing a novel, I had 7 Cod two over 10 lb at 10 14 and 10 4 and a few about the 6lb mark. My mate Paul had 6 cod and 1 pollock and 41 cod were landed. Dave H said would have been more if we were all fishing as the newbies seemed to be out the water 3/4 of the time.

Really strange this was Paul only caught on white Shads and I only caught on Rhubarb and Custard Sidewinders he caught a few then went quiet while it was my turn then vice vera, despite lure change onyly on these colours and never a double hook up for us both.

Had a bit for my tea LOVELY!!

5th June 09 Princess Pier then Babbacombe Pier

Last day off back to work tomorrow, big hangover so an easy fishing session was required.

Arrived at PP about 10:30 and used small sandeels and got 2 Mackies nothing special about a lb a piece, tried my squid jig for 15 mins got bored and as the car parking was about to expire off I went.

Enjoyed being out in the sunshine so much decided to go to Babbacombe Pier, arrived to see people slaying them on feathers.  Set up a Dexter and got 8 in about 3/4 hour got fed up of catching them, enough for the BBQ tomorrow and a few for bait in the freezer.

3rd June – Gilt hunt 17:00 -21:15

No Gilts caught had one Bass about 1.5lb and & Neil had 2 Bass also.

Quiet on the Gilt front.
